DUBAI: The growing popularity of Smart Petitions, an interactive and integrated application presented by Dubai Courts, has been the talk of the ITP Technology. Gov Awards, the annual summit for celebrating ICT-related milestones of the government sector in the GCC. The ITP Technology. Gov Awards showcases smart government achievements that leverage information technology to drive progress and improve lives. Abdulrahim Ahmad Almudhareb, IT Director at Dubai Courts, said: ?We are pleased to win this prestigious award, making Smart Petitions one of the most successful government projects in the UAE. Innovation has been one of the main values at Dubai Courts, and for many years, we have demonstrated how electronic channels can be leveraged to provide convenience, ease citizens? lives, and create more happiness. ?The Smart Petitions project won the Government IT Application Project of the Year recognition based in part on its innovative use of OutSystems Platform to develop the application. The best-in-class application offers a set of services that automate and smart-enable various processes at Dubai Courts. Smart Petitions has simplified and digitised the process of case petitions, from submission, review, follow-up, enquiry, and fee payment all the way to case decisions. Rodrigo Castelo, Director Middle East and Africa, OutSystems, said: ?The Smart Petitions app has been developed in line with the vision of Dubai Courts. The application reengineers existing processes with an aim to expedite and simplify litigation operations, ushering convenience at every step of the way. Dubai Courts needed pioneering solutions, and OutSystems delivered. ?The Smart Petitions app offers services and features for clients, internal auditors, and judges. Users can track and manage their petitions anywhere, anytime. The Smart Petitions app allows the client to submit documents using pre-designed templates, make payments, and follow up on the status of petitions. Internal auditors have the option of reviewing petitions and documents, recommending changes, requesting additional documents, and assigning the petition to the right judicial channel. Judges have the option of reviewing petitions and approving them after recommending the decision. The Smart Petitions app is available across mobile and web devices and has more than 600 active users, and more than 13,000 petitions have already been submitted through the app.
